SOLAR WATER HEATING

Solar water heaters offer a number of advantages over their electric counterparts including drastically lower operating costs, more reliable service (when electricity is not constant) and the ability to free up demand on the local power supply.

Solar water heaters installed on a rooftop use convection currents to circulate hot water into an elevated storage tank and use gravity to distribute the water throughout the building. Evacuated glass tube solar water heaters have the advantage of being extremely efficient; and are able to generate hot water even in cloudy or overcast weather.

For any business with a heavy use of hot water, we recommend installing solar water heaters before upgrading the electricity supply. The switch to solar water heating can substantially reduce electricity demand and provide a reliable supply of hot water year round.
